Since Honeygo Elementary School (HES) opened its doors in 2018, the HES PTO has been working diligently to make it a great place for our students and staff. Our PTO is a non-profit that supports more than 700 students by creating and facilitating opportunities that enhance the elementary school experience. We are able to accomplish this by partnering with the school’s teachers, administration, and local businesses to provide enriching educational and social opportunities for the school’s children and their families.
In order to support the students and staff, we need to have the necessary funds. Last year’s Fun Run was very successful, and we are excited to announce that we are planning our 3rd Annual Fun Run for the 2025-2026 school year! We are hoping that you will consider a sponsorship this year!
As a valued local business and community leader, we are writing to ask for your support by becoming a sponsor of the Honeygo PTO’s 3rd Annual Fun Run. This year, the Fun Run is sports themed and will be held on October 10, 2025, during the school day. All students will have the opportunity to participate in the run, and parents will be invited to come and cheer on the students! We will be promoting the Fun Run during the summer and the beginning of the school year. We will also be promoting it at our Back to School Night, along with advertising it on our Facebook page, our website, and printed flyers sent home.
Our PTO is a non-profit volunteer organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, so your donation is fully tax-deductible. Our U.S. Tax ID number is 83-0916665.
All of the money raised by and donated to the PTO (net of direct fundraising expenses) is used for one of these three purposes:
- The PTO sponsors programs and activities for the students and staff. This means that we plan, execute, and pay for the events and activities. We spend about $43,000 per year on this.
- The PTO supports school-sponsored programs and activities, meaning we provide some or all of the funds to cover the costs for the school to have the event or program. We spend about $13,000 per year on this.
- The PTO has to pay its operating expenses in order. This includes PTO insurance, credit card fees, website charges, database fees and supplies, to name a few. We spend about $4,000 per year on this.
That means that your sponsorship will support ALL PTO programs throughout the year, including:
Field Trips: The cost of field trips, especially buses, is getting more expensive each year. Some field trips have even been postponed or cancelled because they were too expensive. The PTO provides the school with $11,250 towards the cost of field trips.
Teacher Reimbursements: We realized early on that our dedicated teachers and staff spend a lot of their own money on our kids! We offer up to a $175 reimbursement per year to each teacher to cover some of their classroom supplies. This is up to $9,000 per year that we spend on well-deserved reimbursements for our teachers.
Family Involvement Events: We plan fun, free activities for our families to come together and enjoy, including a Fall Fest, Fitness Night, Heritage Night, and a Buy One, Get One Free Book Fair. We spend about $7,000 per year on these events.
Assemblies: Educational and enriching assemblies help our students to learn and stay engaged. Last year, we held two assemblies. We spend up to $6,000 per year for assemblies.
School Equipment: During the 2024-2025 school year the PTO purchased $25,000 of items needed by the school that were not covered by the Baltimore County Budget. The following items were purchased, classroom rugs, a new sound system, storage racks for the musical instruments, and indoor recess supplies for each classroom.
The support of our sponsors enables the Honeygo PTO to advocate for every child and to provide programs and services to our students, their families, and the school staff throughout the school year.
